Wow! Not what I expected but I loved it!

It was very coming of age and Wyatt was of course my favorite character. Go figure!

A cute, easy read about the value of friendship and acceptance. Sure, the mystery of who would be president is fun, but I think a lot of the heart in this book surrounds how the various characters learn to accept who they are and the lives they will choose to lead.

Delightful. The book begins in the year 2049 with one of the four protagonists being sworn in as President. Then the story flashes back to current day, to the girls' senior year in high school. I have never seen or read [b:The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants|452306|The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Sisterhood, #1)|Ann Brashares|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1461611233l/452306._SY75_.jpg|1058370] but I think it's probably similar - each girl is working through her own issues, independently and with the help of her friends. The undercurrent of the mystery - who will be President - runs throughout the book and kept me interested. I loved the little twist at the end. Smart YA, perfect for quarantine reading.

This book started with the inauguration sir change ceremony for the president of the United States whose last name is mentioned because she took her husbands name. Then it jumps back to senior year 2019/2020 for Ava, CJ, Jordan and Martha eho are best friend. One of these girls will be the president of the United States. Kinda interesting story for each girl. Liked the ending a lot!

Four friends, all with interesting backstories, making their way through their senior years of high school. There are boys, college applications, schoolwork, parents and expectations to deal with, and the friendship ebbs and flows with all that. Much of this is told in flashback, with the book opening and closing with the swearing in as President one of the friends. Which one and how she ended up with her husband may even surprise readers. In the next book, I wonder if we'll stick with these friends as they go through college or if we'll meet four new girls. Either way, I'll be reading.
