Omg so Book one was so addicting! I had the paperback from my library and then picked up the ebook version of book two on my phone and I lowkey wish I would have stayed with paperback because my brain is weird. Buttt I’m excited for book three!!

Pros: I really enjoy Brex because while she definitely gets herself into some shit she isn’t the character that is just going to lay down and take it, she fights to the death. Bitzy is literally such a comic relief I feel like and while silly I enjoy it. I love seeing how everyone is connected and seeing all of the pieces come together. Warwick and her are giving SLOW BURN.

Cons: how many times can they blow stuff up to escape? Will they be escaping every 20 pages for the entire series? I have gotten slightly annoyed at how repetitive a few things have gotten. I’m hoping to see more character development for Warwick because rn I’m not like loving him quite yet. He’s lowkey like a brick that Talks.

Anywho, I have book three so I’m starting it tonight

This second book kept the momentum going and I think i enjoyed it even more than I did its predecessor, considering I adored that one that was quite the feat. This carries on where that left us with Brexley in the hands of Killian after her previous betrayal and he's different to what she'd previously imagined. A lot more is added to the mix here really muddying things up and this was fast-paced throughout. Brexley evolves here as she discovers things are not always what they seem and what she once thought is so completely wrong throwing her whole world on its axis. Still with no idea what she is and the whys of her connection to Warwick, Brexley tries to find her place but everyone seems to want a piece of her and her enemies are everywhere.

This takes us all the way from the Seelie palace to the HDF headquarters then on to the resistance as Brexley attempts to traverse her new reality. This again finishes on another pivotal point as she once again finds herself in a situation out of her control. I especially liked the connection between Brexley and Warwick and am definitely intrigued to discover more.

This book immediately follows up from where Savage Lands concludes, and I feel like there’s so much in here, it’s difficult to even remember what happened at the beginning.

The characters got better! Killian is so intriguing and I hope to see more of him in future books. Warwick is just amazing and I'm not sure I’ll ever complain about him. Although, his secret, I guessed in book 1. It was kinda of obvious.

The budding attraction between Warwick and Brexley is off the charts in this one! The best part is… nah, I won’t spoil it. But it’s great and I’m LOVING seeing Warwick’s cold exterior start to melt. I’m loving the connection too. So cool!

This book hooked me. I read 90% of it in one sitting, and the rest the following day. I was so addicted and when I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about it. Again, so happy I waited to read them all.

A lot of craziness, a lot of movement, and definitely fantastic set up for book 3.

So why not 5 stars? Honestly, I found the last chunk of the novel a close duplicate to another part. It was almost like too much happened in this book and it could have done with one plot point less. So many characters introduced, new places, all for Warick to bomb the place, rescue her… and repeat. Then the stuff with Scorpion was random and just idk. I’m getting a bit weird about all the men attracted to her. For me, Opie and Bitzy interrupt the story. And I realize they’re fan favs, but I find myself skimming their parts.

All in all though, it’s great. I do like book 1 more but I read this one faster. And ever series always has that one that’s just not as good as the others. I can’t wait to stay up all night reading book 3.

Great second book, the relationship between brex and Warwick is greatly evolving but its really slow burns, fine for me i love the big tension that it creates. Everything happens so fast in this short book that has 270 pages compare to double pages for the first one. I feel that the actions is almost too much but if theres nice plot twist and connection from this it can be very good. There are so much characters too and this is something that is often missing in a lot of Fantasy book so i like it but i feel there could be more development to them, again, maybe we’ll see in the other books.
