I really enjoyed the beginning and ending but I felt like overall the plot was kind of bland and didn’t enjoy the characters as much as I hoped.

my main issue with this story was the characters. the main character was annoying and slightly whiny, but shes about to go to college so like i guess i get it. i thought it was strange how there was essentially no resultion of conflict when it came to her relationship with her parents, but i guess that that is how it is in some cultures. also, i wanted more pining from the two main characters. i wanted that hatred to go a little longer than it did.

~ Amazing, Soul-Warming Story! ~

Ahhhh Tashie’s done it again!!! I loveddd her first book and this one was an amazing follow up!!

The story was amazinggg and super easy to read and the setting of movies and film school was so fun!!

Mina’s emotional journey of her family and public life was soooo good and so well done!! Tashie’s books always start out light and innocent and then smack you out of nowhere with emotional gut-punches only to wrap everything up with a nice warm bow at the end!! And I loveee it!!

The ending was honestly the best part of this book and done sooo well!! Also the Cornelia Street references gave me so much life and I listened to it on repeat while finishing the book and it made my experience so much better so definitely recommend doing it that way lol!

Everyone go read A Show For Two right now!! You won’t regret it!! It’s amazing and I can’t for Tashie’s next story!! She’s an autobuy author of mine now and forever!!

I loved the background of the author that inspired this book (Tom Holland attended her high school incognito for insights into being a HS student in the US in preparation for his role as Spiderman) and overall this is a cute story, it is just not the best writing and I hate how the teenagers throw in swear words—even if it’s realistic.

Did NOT expect to love this book as much as I did. Fell totally and completely in love not even like 3 chapters in and it just did not disappoint at all. I love movies so that was definitely one of my fave aspects, but the Emmitt/Mina relationship absolutely sky-rocketed to one of my all-time fave YA romances of all time. Also the Tweets at the end??? SO accurate. Literally laughed out loud at a bus stop while reading. Overall 1,000,000,000/10 will absolutely purchase both physical AND digital copies. My fave book of the year so far.

The premise of this sounded really fun, but in the end it was very middle-of-the-road for me. I did enjoy Mina's character a lot - though I wish everyone would have been a bit more rounded-out!

I can relate to Mina so much. As someone who moved to Iowa to get away from strict and sometime overbearing parents, I can see why she wanted to escape to California. While my parents were not as horrible as Mina's, I know how tough it is to feel like you are a constant disappointment to them. I enjoyed how this book depicted their tough relationship.

One thing I did not agree with was how hard people were coming down on Mina for wanting to escape. Yes, she was very focused on winning the film project so she could leave New York, however, I can see where she was coming from. If winning the film project was the only way she saw to escape, then I can't blame her for wanting to make sure it was her main priority. Maybe if there was more explanation to her friends and family on why she felt the need to escape, then maybe they wouldn't have felt so left behind.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more from the author.
