I didn't like the beginning at all..I was just plain bored, but after a few chapters the Settler business got pretty interesting and I was pretty much hooked.

I thought that the premise about a teenage girl being a shrink to recently deceased people was pretty much awesome, although I thought that there wasn't enough about those kind of cases.

There was more teenage drama and Reanimated Corpses, short: RC's, and boy drama of course.

But I still liked the story as well as the characters.

I liked the antagonist, Monica or better known as the Monicster, the most. She was bitchy and beautiful and she kicked ass. I liked her a lot.

The main character was also very likable and you could empathize with her pretty easily. I thought that her thoughts, which were often mumbo-jumbo, were excellently played out.

I definitely will continue the series.

I liked the book, I liked the writing, I liked (some of) the characters, but I'm stuck on one detail which really doesn't make sense to me.

Why don't the adults who have kids hold on to their power? They pass the power on to their kids and lose their own. Why? And how would that make sense, seeing that the Settlers only attract undead close to their age? Think about it... how many potentially undead children and teenagers are there compared to middle-aged and older people?

If being a Settler is something you're born into, then every single Settler had their power passed on to them from a parent, who would then lose their power. The only Settlers who would hold on to their power until they die are the ones who don't have kids. And if too many of them don't have kids, then the power will not be passed on when they die. Eventually, you'll face an extinction of Settlers if too many don't have kids.

But even if you tried to keep a balance of the Settlers who do have kids and pass the power on on and the Settlers that don't have kids and hold on to their powers until they die, it still doesn't make up for the very unrealistic ratio of undead kids and teens as opposed to undead middle aged and older people.

Other than this pretty big issue, I did like the story. It was a fun read, with an interesting premise, settling the undead... I just felt that the story could've been told just as well if the author fixed up the issue of the Settlers and how their power worked.

I was drawn to the idea of the Settler, one who helps the deceased with unresolved issues. For me, that unique idea got me thought some of the "tedium" of the high-school girl drama. I only say tedium because I am in my upper-middle 30s and even though I read a fair amount of YA, teenage girls are just trying at times (as I'm sure I was, if you ask adults who knew me when).

I really liked Stacey Jay's voice and her characters were a lot like those friends and enemies we all had in high school. I'm not sure I'll continue with the series but this book was fun for the bus. I even took an extra long lunch break to finish it.

Honestly this book felt very incomplete to me. I understand though that it is part of a series meant for a younger generation so I can't complain. I thought the idea of the settlers was a very unique take on zombies and I quite liked it.

Really cute and fluffy , and the zombie aspect was well done. I wasnt expecting the twist, so that was good.
Took half a star because he is 18/19? And she is 15, and that makes me feel icky

Stacey Jay made my first exposure to the wonderful world of zombie literature a fun one! I always think of Michael Jackson’s Thriller video when I think of zombies. Not that has any significance for this review, but I just felt like throwing that out there, because that’s how I kept imagining the zombies when I was reading this novel. I thought the whole Settler society was a very interesting and unique! And Jay does a remarkable job depicting it.

I was expecting a darker theme, but it ended up being lighthearted and funny. There’s a steady dose of suspense, action, humor and romance which always makes for a good read. Megan is a typical teenage girl, I mean except for the whole helping the undead thing. But that is what makes You are so Undead to Me such a charming read!

I had no idea who the culprits were! Now that I know, I don’t know why I didn’t figure it out earlier, but I was just at oblivious as Megan! I love when a novel baffles me like that. Stacey Jay has written an impressive debut novel and I’m looking forward to reading more by her!

You Are So Undead To Me is the cutest zombie book I have ever read. The romance of it completely balanced out the crazy zombies and made it super enjoyable. It was a quick read and also a great one.

Megan Berry is a Settler of the Undead or at least she was before and attack changed her life. It's been five years since that night and her powers seem to be returning. For everybody but Megan, it's a great thing. Megan just wants to be a normal teenager and find a date for the homecoming dance but angry zombies keep ruining things. And then Ethan shows up to protect her and teach her the Settler ways. Could anything else possibly happen to change her sophomore year from the best ever to her worst nightmare?

Megan was a great heroine. She was strong but she knew when she needed help. She relied on Ethan's help sometimes but most of the time she was able to handle herself. She didn't want to be a Settler but when she knew it wasn't going to change she took charge and learned how to protect herself. She was smart, funny, and very spunky!

The plot was great. I knew someone was trying to kill Megan but I had no clue who it was until the very end of the book. I never would have guessed and it made me keep reading well into the night. I had to finish the book and know how things ended for Megan.

Overall, You Are So Undead To Me is a lighter zombie story. I don't like lots of blood and gore and Stacey Jay managed to craft a wonderful tale with very little of that. Of course you can't completely avoid that in a book about the undead but it was definitely a reasonable amount. It was a great story and I can't wait to start Undead Much?. If you haven't read this one, check it out!

I checked this out from the library today. This book was a quick, fun read. There were definitely some darker parts, edged with teen fiction lightness most of the time. I really enjoyed 'You Are So Undead To Me'. While the plot was a little predictable most of the time, I didn't see the end coming. Definitely a great twist. I will see if the library has more of this series. 4 stars.
