Time Lost

A neat mixture of time travel and what i think of as modern day alien theories.

The writing is simple and may seem weak to some but it suits the 50s character being portrayed.

DNF about halfway through. So lame.

[…] At exactly 4:55 p.m., Kara and Ayita saw something they’d never seen before. A beam of blinding white light flashed down from the heavens, engulfing the car.
They watched in stunned silence as the car broke into pieces and sparkled like broken glass in the setting sun.
And then the car and Sally vanished. […]

And this won't be the only time it happens in this story… ;)

4/5 fun book about a 1950’s house wife teleported to the year 2023. A few things were forced in there but all in all I enjoyed it.

This book was ok, easy to read and kept me interested. I found the ending a little bit too light hearted but it matches the personality of the main character.

Clever and tidy time traveling tale. I was surprised that she decided to go back in time. It was cute that she got her own HEA when she returned. The government being in cahoots with an alien was hilarious. And Bert helping her only for her to become his step was adorable.

"The Lost Mata Hari Ring" is described as a time travel novel, but as the pages started flying, and I immersed myself deep into this fabulous and fascinating story, I realized it was so much more. The author was new to me, but I was impressed with the amount of research and knowledge that went into the writing of this book. I found the historical aspects extremely well-written and interwoven into the story in a unique and enjoyable way. Everyone has heard of "Mata Hari" and her name is used today to describe a woman who is secretive, mysterious, devious and Machiavellian. But who really knows her sad and tragic story, or the woman behind the legend? If you read this book, you'll find out, and be totally mesmerized by this thrilling tale.
