I was already familiar with Jules Verne's work throughout several adaptations from an early age. Though this novel isn't one of his well known ones in comparison to Journey to the Center of the Earth, it is equally captivating and quite different from the rest. It was later adapted to a play by Verne and was praised by critic Leonard S. Davidow:"Jules Verne has written no better book than this, in fact it is deservedly ranked as one of the most thrilling tales ever written."

[EN] Jules Verne's stories are my favorite adventure stories, mainly due to their simplicity and speed.
I very much sympathized with the main character and I cheered for him all the way. Responsibility is here portrayed very well, as it is fidelity. These two terms seem to me very pertinent in today's society.
This edition has both the text and an adaptation for comics. Although I've only fully read the text, I liked the parts of the comic strip that I glanced. I'll save this edition because it looks great for a younger audience who does not have much interest in reading since they offer two versions of the same story in one volume.

This book was mandatory read at my school, and my whole class was a bit bored at first, because the first 100 pages are quite dense. The fact that we red the first of the book really slow link last may have also affected después section of the pace of this book. But as we arrive to be final chapters we started to get into the book. At the end, there are a lot of twists that make you want to read every single page until the end. I would really recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a classic that isn't too difficult, or for anyone who wants a book about adventures through Russia.
