Came for a cheesy romance and got more of it than I expected? Just like a Hallmark movie through and through. There were a lot of moments that were set up just to be cut out. If even a fraction of those moments were fleshed out then it would've been more palpable.

i recognise and acknowledge that with romance novels, you seem to have to lose some of reality’s nuance and character and politics for the fantasy and tropes to reach full force, but honestly, this also didn’t even have the things you sacrifice realism for. zero chemistry, zero conviction, zero wit, totally unclear where this romance comes from except we’re told they’re both attractive, which makes it hard to care. boring

This will be the first thing I burn upon my next fire. c:
This is a direct reflection of the author that Katie is who Camille is and Cassidy is how the author sees herself. I ripped the acknowledgments out of this book so I knew who to complain about. How they allowed this piece of garbage to see the light of day. But don't listen to me regarding how I feel. Pick this up at your local library sale and don't give this horrible author a penny and sure as shit not $17. Talk about delusional.
