Absolutely, wonderful addition to the SEALS of Winter! I loved how Jesse set out to win back Charlie's heart after marrying her in haste and then deploying 3 years straight. He decides to use the twelve days of Christmas and goes about finding items to bring to Charlie and win her heart back. Who knew that peeps could be substituted for two turtle doves? In the mean time, Charlie is finds out her father owes a bookie $20,000, and since he can't find her father, he comes to collect from her. This story was a wonderful addition to the SEALs of Winter box set and fantastic!

Char is was adopted by the Mayor of a small town. Her father was a con-man(Brent)and her mother was dead. Brent was more than willing to have child services take her away years ago. Her new parents weren't fond of her speaking with Brent so they forbade it. If she spoke to him she would get kicked out. Char’s Bio Dad has put her in quite a pickle. His loan shark(Smith)is after her because he can no longer locate Brent ,who he assumed was deceased. Smith wanted 20k and was threatening her with violence. Luckily Jesse stepped out in time to save her. Jesse was a small town boy, gone Navy SEAL. He too had a troubled past. Hunted by his dead girlfriend he latches to Char like no other. Char resisted because she didn't want to rope anyone else into this mess. She was trying to find a way to pay him off without alerting her family. Jesse offers to help her with her problems but she refuses. Of course she believes she can handle a guy threatening her life(and her family’s) alone. Char’s parents at the end? I’m not even going into that. This Novella was okay. Not a favorite but It was alright. 3/5

Jesse Richter, Navy SEAL, was on leave. He was going home but didn't want to. There were too many memories of the girl he loved but couldn't save. Charlene Morgan, 19, was adopted when she was 13 years old. She'd had a troubled past because of her swindling biological father. Someone is coming after her because of him, for money that he owes. When Jesse sees the girl next door, that he's very much attracted to, is in trouble, he can't resist helping the damsel in distress.

Love those Lucky Thirteen SEAL's! Charlie just can't catch a break. We, as children, cannot choose our parents and sometimes get stuck with parents that don't deserve the title. All we can do is try to overcome the stigma that we're left with. Jesse is way too young to be so tortured over Jane's death. The guilt he felt was preventing him from truly living. This was a great story of one of the younger SEALs in an amazing series! Can't wait to visit these sexy SEALs again.
