I don't think it's fair to call this a grimmer version of Heartstopper, as it kinda robs both storys of their originality, but it gives you a general idea about what to expect.
There is a lot of emotional depth to these characters, serious challenges and issues in their lives around the age of 18 and while the first one was a cute enemies-to-lovers-romance, this is a far more complex story about where you come from and where you can go, about how to come to terms with your past, your present and your future. I need more emotionally (and physical) scared characters falling in love with each other, respecting and supporting the hell out of each other while still being sarcastic and/or unstable.
It is an uplifting story in the end, it gives representation to troubled youth and how to support loved ones while they're going through stuff, but not in an exploiting way. To some it might seem unrelatable or worse depressing, but I really, really enjoyed it.

Really really enjoyed this second arc and how we got to know the characters further. I'm tempted to continue reading on Tapas with the 3rd arc but I'm probably gonna wait for it to be completed to be able to binge it all at once. Knowing myself it's better than to wait for every update
