An easy read with a predictable plot. I liked the writing and futuristic quirks; however, expect the story to include typical YA novel tropes. It didn’t blow me away, but I enjoyed reading it all the same.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a sci-if so I was definitely a little skeptical going into this, but I’m so glad I finally read it! I absolutely loved Cinder right away and the fact that she had a spunky android sidekick and a sweet stepsister made it even better! I absolutely loved guessing what was going to happen and being somewhat right in the end so that was another of many bonuses! I am so excited to continue this series which I am sure will become one of my all time favorites!

rereading this series for the first time since like middle school and yeah. this still eats.
overall shocked by how many plot beats i remembered. solid introduction to the series and greater plot, if a little on-the-nose at times. cliche in a way that makes sense for the target age group, i will concede.

This book, according to most, is a rewrite of Cinderella in the Sci-Fi world. However, I don't think so. I think that this story (and the rest of the books in the series) have borrowed a few major ideals from princesses like Cinderella and on the basis of those ideals the story has evolved into some beautifully written cyborg/sci-fi/dystopian/romance. It was a wonderful, gripping read!
