I enjoyed this book much better than the first book in the series. It is written for a slightly older audience and deals with some difficult topics (grief, depression). With great overall themes of the consequences of war, environmentalism, and the importance of community and love, this is a good book. I just don't particularly enjoy the distant narration and switching back and forth between POVs even though I enjoyed Pax's storyline much better in this book than the previous.
Moderate: Death of parent
Minor: Suicidal thoughts
