Cooper Armstrong is the quarterback of the San Francisco Renegades. To save him from a woman who's been coming on too strong, his childhood friend places the winning on him at the team's charity bachelor auction. Violet and Cooper are mistaken for a couple, and soon they're caught up in their lie.
But is is a lie? Their kisses feel real enough. And what about the vow of celibacy Cooper took this season?

MOST VALUABLE PLAYBOY is a funny, feel-good, scorching book. I loved every page of it.

There are things that I always love about reading a Lauren Blakely book. I know I will swoon. I know I will fall in love with her characters, especially her male leads. I know I will laugh and I know that there will be smoking chemistry and tons of romance.
This and so much more are in Most Valuable Playboy. To say I fell hard for Cooper is an understatement. The man is alpha personified, but can also be vulnerable and is so damn charming. I loved him. I also love a good sports romance, especially football and there was definitely enough of that woven in to keep me entertained at all times.
This story has so much heart. I could not put it down. I was too busy being lost in this world and this relationship between two characters that felt so real. I definitely can't wait to read more from Lauren and hopefully more characters from this story.

I absolutely loved that. It just hit all the right spots. A sweet friends-to-lovers storyline? Count me in. A lovable cast of characters? Yes please. I’d say what another thing that made this book great was how while there were quite a few sexual instances (whether physically or juts thoughts), I still felt the genuine connection between Cooper and Violet, they knew each other deeply. There was a great buildup, not just insta lust and no relationship development like I see in most of the books I read these days.

Cooper of a football quarterback who, after three years warming the bench, is finally getting to play. He's sworn to focus only on the game. Meaning no dates or hookups. Every year, some members of the team take part in an auction for a charity, where the highest bidder gets a date. Cooper's team owner's doted-on sister has her eye set on him, and it seems that she wants more than just a date. Not wanting to create problems for himself, he asks his childhood friends (and best friend's sister) to bid on him. She wins, and they somehow end up dating; publicly, of course.
This isn't something that we haven't already read. There are tons of books with a similar plot. That's not to say that this book isn't good, though.
The chemistry between Cooper and Violet is great. I loved them as friends and when their relationship started to grow. They're adorable together. The narrative is very funny. It's from Cooper's perspective, which is a big plus. The book is well-written, well-paced and enjoyable to read. There's no excessive drama, which I love, but the plot can be a bit too simple at times.
It's a story we've heard before. And while there were good characters and good writing, and I enjoyed reading it, there isn't much about it that makes you think that this is a story that needs to be told, one that's different.
I still really liked it and if you're look for a quick, light read, this is definitely one that I'd recommend. I just want you to go in knowing what it is, so you won't be disappointed. You won't find a lot of angst, excitement or big, dramatic moments. This is a short and sweet novel with an entertaining narrative and likable characters. Nothing bad, but nothing that will blow you mind either.

Audible.
I was looking for a "comfort listen". Nothing too angsty, or OTT funny, or dark. Just a simple, enjoyable love story ~ and that's exactly what this is. Minus two small text exchanges between Violet and her sister-in-law, this is Entirely from Cooper's POV. Fun & sweet friends-to-lovers, fake boy/girlfriend tropes. Zachary Webber in all his calm yet sexy voice glory.
P.S. I'm iffy on "reformed manwhore" books, but really that's not what this was. Yes, he had a past, but it was just sort of mentioned and he was actually on a celibacy kick for several months when the book started.

Story of Cooper and Violet
This book has all the feels and super witty, such a funny rom com. I laughed so much through this book.
It’s all about the growth of the relationship of Cooper and Violet, loved it!
Can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

This book was the equivalent of a fun rom com movie. It was a book where you can’t help but smile the entire time. The chemistry between the love interests was great and really hooked me from the start. The tropes in this book are some of my favorites. Fake dating, brothers best friend, and more. I listened to this on audio and I 100% recommend reading it that way.
