This was a very tropey story (fake boyfriends, discovering bi/gay). there is some humor to the story but it didn't fully hold my attention. I did enjoy catching up with some previous characters.

On the whole, I really enjoyed this one. I liked that the "mystery" wasn't some big crazy thing this time, although it did start out another mystery, that I hope will be the plot of the next book, and it better be about Parker and Jamie!

But this one! I really loved both of these guys, although I had a LOT of frustration about Daniel's big "Secret" life, how long it took for the details to come out, and it seemed that most of it happened off page, or at the very end, without much discussion. I loved that Daniel didn't spend a bunch of time angsting over his sudden attraction to a man. Instead he angsted over falling for ANYONE, which was easier to take.

Overall, 3.5 stars, but rounded up, because I did like it more than the first one.

The town of O'Leary should work. The small town vibes and the quirky town's people, very gilmore girls. But GOD there's TOO much town and not enough couple in these books.

I'm reading book 3 because I really want to see Micah and Con, but I'm definitely done with o'leary after that. I love this Author's books, but this town is just too much for me. I just can't keep up with all the characters.

I really liked this one!

Julian was super cute whenever he started spouting out animal facts.

I also really liked the character progression Julian had. Him realizing that trying to be a people pleaser was not actually making things easier for people. Hiding his emotions, trying to not be a burden on Daniel was actually having the opposite effect. He was making Daniel try to read his real emotions and Julian was getting frustrated when he wasn't getting it.

Daniel's character I wasn't a super big fan of though.

I get why he didn't want to share anything about his past, but I really just felt like he was being unfair to Julian by not telling him things that would normally be fair game.

I wish he opened up more during the story, but they're still cute together though.

Also I read that some people think that there are too many characters, I agree to an extent, but the number of named characters actually helps make O'Leary feel like a real town.

I love that we see Silas and Everett (though I wish they were more in the story) and Cal and Ash.

Definitely helps if you read the first book since a lot of the characters are established there.
