There was just something so beautiful about the writing that I do not have the words to describe. One of the best I've read, wish she wrote more novels but nah she died from a stove. Such a creative way to go, though. 😔

sylvia plath’s fig tree analogy will haunt me forever. beautifully written. such a poignant story and esther is too relatable. plath’s dry humor is top notch. loved this, made me realize i need to read more classics.

if someone asked me what this book was about, i could not give them the slightest idea despite having read the whole thing. it was a good book overall but i genuinely had no idea what was going on and all i took from it really is that she tried to kill herself
