This quick little tale was nothing what I expected which was one of the appeals to it. I did find some parts jumped from thoughts to quickly before introducing something new and I was flipping back to see if I was missing something. For a first book, it did do it's job by hooking me because I have already set up the second online to read and took out the third from the library. I also have it set as a to be watched on one of my online platforms.
Mai and her friends love to tell ghost stories and they want a new place to tell them so she breaks into the haunted condemned school on the same property a the school she is attending now. Unfortunately with doing this she ended up breaking equipment belonging to researchers who are there to investigate the abandoned high school and has to work with them to pay off the damages. She learns there are ore sides to rumors and mysteries than meet the eye and gets thrown into an adventure she was not expected to be involved in.

Holy bananas, I've never reviewed my favorite anime's manga before?!

'Ghost Hunt' is my favorite anime. Hands down. The best. The manga is also really good! I own a fair few volumes but getting my hands on the whole set is tricky. I even got volume 1 signed by Naru's English voice actor (and he told me it was the first manga of 'Ghost Hunt' he'd ever signed!).

The story is seemingly simple; high school girl ends up working for a supernatural hunting company that's more interested in proving the supernatural isn't real than blindly exorcising haunts. But it's more than that; it's just so. good.

It's hard to find nowadays, but I highly recommend it!!

When a plan to renovate an old building in the school fall through, the headmaster calls for a supernatural investigator, Kazuya Shibuya due to rumors about ghosts and incidents that keep happening in the building. He first appears on the school ground during one of Mai, our MC, and her friends' ghost story time. He irks Mai so much by the fact that he walks into their ghost story session and freaks the heck out of them and still has the nerve to talk down to her while he's only 16, a year older than herself. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mai end up helping him during the investigation.

I enjoyed this adaptation better than the original LN probably due to awkward translation of the latter. Staying loyal to the original storyline & characters, I would recommend reading this over the light novel.

I watched the anime first, as I do with most of my manga reading, and it's great. I decided to start reading the manga because I REALLY want to understand why Mai kept seeing Naru in her dreams. And why is Naru the way he is. He's definitely hiding a secret and I want to know what it is! His arrogance and wittiness is great, and I like his relationship with Mai. It's definitely not cliche.

I thought this was a neat approach to ghost hunting. The president uses a lot of equipment and logical deduction to solve the mysteries.

Extremely poor pacing. Shibuya was a jerk. And yet, I still kind of enjoyed this volume, maybe because I like ghost hunting as a subject.

Intriguing plot with heaps of twists and turns along with interesting characters. I may pick up volume 2 however i am not in a huge rush to continue.

This is my first light novel. Quite entertaining. I didn't know light novels could be so immersive.
