i really like aaron poochigian'a translation of the poems/fragments, although i have only read very few other translations online so i might change my mind on that.

i like sappho's poetry style, even though these are translated and will never feel the same way that the actual ancien greek versions of them do, i still enjoyed them very much.

my favorite parts of this book were the chapters (not sure if they are considered chapters) 'Desire and Death-Longing' ; 'Troy' ; and 'The Wisdom of Sappho'.

also something i want to mention is how much love sappho expresses towards 'her girls'. i think one of the poems was about them and i really liked that poem since it had strong feelings of love and passion in it.

overall very glad i read this, and it was also a quick read [if i dont count the extra time it took me to search up words and names i didnt know or understand and write them down, and then also writing down my interpretations of some of the poems lol]

i recommend this book !!
