This book has left me a bit conflicted in that I definitely enjoyed this book but am less satisfied. The adventure was seen in this book and made it a thrilling quest to follow and I loved being back in this world with theses characters. That being said this book is not as distinctive as the other books in the series and while I enjoyed the characters development and growth I’m not exactly satisfied with certain choices. The Serpent's Shadow I thought was a sold read but I certain aspects were a bit off and I felt could have been handled differently that being said I still enjoyed reading this book and would recommend this series. Taking all of that in account I think it is a 3.65 stars it just needed a bit more to push it to a 4 stars.

*2.5

BEST OF THE SERIES!!!

Walt/Anubis is perfect and so is Zia with Ra!!!!

4.5 stars. Good end to a trilogy. Although Rick left way too much room for more books

The Serpent's Shadow by Rick Riordan is the best of the Kane chronicles. In this book Carter and Sadie Kane must stop the Aphosis, which everyone says is impossible, figure out and teach the path of the gods, and stop some rogue magicians from killing them. The House of Life is in a civil war, the rogue magicians, that Aphosis had under his thumb in the previous book, are trying to take control. Sadie and Carter figure out a way to stop Aphosis but they have to beat all odds to be able to put the plan into action. There is also the pressing issue of finding a cure for Walt.....

This is by far the best of the Kane chronicles. It also had sublet hints about a crossover series between the Percy Jackson series and the Kane chronicles. I would recommend this book to anyone who liked the Percy Jackson series and Egyptian mythology.

More like a 3.5 but I digress.... I forced myself to read this book fast because I knew if I didn’t, I may never finish it. Not my favourite series that Uncle Rick has done but I will continue to read all of his books because his writing style is amazing. This story just fell flat for me
