This was, surprisingly, REALLY good. Don't judge a book by its trashy romcom style cover, I guess? (Nothing against a trashy romcom, certainly)
A beautiful study in grief, friendship, boundaries, and British humor.

I’d give it 2 stars
I felt blindsided and backstabbed at the beginning. This was not what I thought it’d be.
It’s not a romance definitely not
But it was still good
The blurb has nothing to do with the book really
And some of the ‘jokes’ are just of v bad taste idk if it’s to reflect Suzie’s flair or because the author herself doesn’t mind them
The more I think about it the less I know why I’m giving it 3 stars and not 2 so I’ll stop here

3.5 stars. It took me about half way through this book to decide if I loved or hated it. However, I'm glad I stuck with it because I ended up quite liking it. By the end I was proud of Eve and how she navigated the loss of her friend and betrayal from another. And who doesn't love a bit of romance along the way?

A group of friends, a wedding, a death, and a huge secret. The four friends are thick as thieves. But in one night, everything changes. Everyone who reviewed this gave it 5 stars and I get it. If you loved ‘Happy Place,’ but wished it was messier, here. If you want a bit more… well, 4 stars.
