I had heard really good things about the book, especially about how imaginative it was, but in the end, it kinda felt like any like any other hard sci-fi or cyberpunk book written by a straight guy. The book throws a lot of terminology and technological concepts at you, but it wasn't too confusing once I got into the rhythm of it and some of them were pretty interesting and touched on issues like privacy and memory. The characters, on the other hand, were pretty forgettable and pretty flat - it really felt like they were plot devices more than they were people (not to mention that it felt like most of the scenes involving the few female characters involved sex or flirting or commentary on pretty they were)
