5⭐️
This book was so much more than I could have ever imagined! It is definitely a 5 star read that every fantasy lover should read! I really think this would even be a great fantasy starter book for those that want to see if they might like fantasy.
Feyre, a human, finds herself forced from the human lands to the lands of the Fae. She is stubborn, strong, and very capable for a human. However, as she enters the lands of the Fae she meets members of the fae that are unlike anything we could imagine. Their physical characteristics and personalities are so well crafted by the author that you almost forget that you are reading. The story holds you in its grip the entire way through the book!
I am super excited to start the next book in the series. This is my first book by Sarah J Maas and I can already tell she’ll be one of my favorite authors!

I’ve ventured into another fantasy world, which I never thought I’d do again!
This books follows Feyre as she hunts for food in the woods for her family. Except she kills a High Fae’s deer which leads to her becoming kidnapped by them as part of her punishment. Feyre lived with her sisters, Nesta and Elain and their father. When Feyre is taken to the new lands, we are introduced to Tamlin, Lucien and Rhysand. Feyre and Tamlin strike up a relationship at this point but will not say that she loves him. We are also introduced to Alis around this time too. Soon after, Tamlin and Lucien tell Feyre to run and not look back, so she goes home. However, she returns home to find that their neighbour Clare’s house was burned down and she realises that it is her fault that this has happened. So she leaves home again, and returns back to Tamlin/Lucien.
Upon entering the world again, she soon finds that Tamlin and Lucien are nowhere to be seen, but she does speak to Alis who tells her where Tamlin and Lucien are. Feyre then decides to go and find Tamlin as she’s told that he was taken by Amarantha because Feyre did not declare her love to him before she left. Feyre was put before Amarantha and this is when she saw Clare’s dead mutilated body, but also saw Tamlin sitting alongside Amarantha in his own throne but making a conscious effort to not react to anything Feyre says or does.
Feyre is told that she is to complete 3 tasks in order to release Tamlin from her spell, but she was not told how easy or how hard these tasks would be. Feyre goes on to smash all 3 tasks, the 3rd one being the most horrible of the tasks, and this in turn means Tamlin is released from under Amarantha’s spell and Amarantha herself is killed.
This book was a little slow to get into but I did love it once I got into it, hence the 4 star rating!
Do recommend!

The characters are well-rounded, especially Feyre. However, there are a couple of plot inaccuracies
Nonetheless, this was one of the best books I've read. I can't wait to read the rest of the series - I hope they're as good as this one!
