Dangerous Temptation, the first book in the Dark Dream Duet, was a very tough read for me. Beautiful Nightmare picks right up from where Dangerous Temptation left off. And I was hoping this book would redeem the series for me; however, it fell short, and was a disappointment.
I’m not even sure where to begin – the whole book was problematic for me, truthfully. I’ll start with the positives… the relationship that Tiernan and Brandon developed was amazing. Their banter was great and I loved how Tiernan’s employees/friends interacted with the child. There was a Christmas scene and it was amazing!
Now the problems I had with Beautiful Nightmare. The age difference – I don’t think I’m a huge fan of this trope, but I especially don’t like it when it technically involves an underage person. At 17, Bianca does not know that Tiernan is end-game, like she claims. The steamy moments between the two were OK, but far-fetched, and unrealistic. At one point, Tiernan climbs into Caroline’s home, where Bianca is staying, and hides under the bed. Creepy, right? Not only that, but it’s again, far-fetched… like Caroline isn’t going to have cameras on the property and people watching every inch of the property. The twists and turns were too much and too many.
Beautiful Nightmare was sadly a nightmare for me. I’ve seen the other reviews, I know people enjoyed this book, but it wasn’t for me.

This was so worth the wait. Tiernan & Bianca were the best of what makes dark romance my favorite genre. Ms. Darling writes stories that make you hold your breath waiting to see the outcome. I loved the family that this monster brought together. It made me cry to see the brothers come together. Bryant caused a lot of pain. I loved seeing Bianca & Brando’s love start to heal him. I loved the lightness and fun that Bianca & Brando brought. I was not ready for this one to end.
Thank you to Giana Darling, Serena and the team at Dangerous Press for the advance reader copy of Beautiful Nightmare, the second story in the Dark Dream duet.
After the delicious kickoff to this story, Dangerous Temptation I could not be even more excited for the second and final part of Tiernan and Bianca’s story.
I am a member of the Dangerous Press review team, but I stand by my reviews remaining honest and true.

“I’d fight anyone and anything, even my baser instincts and cruel inclinations, to keep Bianca with me forever. Not just keep her, but love her. Cherish her. Bring her as much peace and joy as I knew she was capable of giving me.”
Book 2 in the Dark Dream duet did not disappoint. The first book was a lot of relationship develop, angst, hatred, and overall slow burn. This book we finally see the walls get knocked down and the real feelings come out.
Tiernan Morelli finally has the family he has always wanted when he becomes guardian of Bianca and Brandon Belcante. After being so guarded and callous with Bianca in the first book, he is finally ready to completely let her in. His previous history of secrets and betrayal have Bianca keeping her distance, which Tiernan is having none of. He wants her back where she belongs and is ready to prove is to her. Both Bianca and Tiernan have to deal with their individual family’s past and how it affects their future, both alone and together. Their relationship is powerful and intense, just like them.
Bianca using her new housing situation to focus on finding out the truth about her family and coming to terms with how much has changed in her life. Tiernan has his own family issues that he struggles with and keeps him so untrustworthy. When members of his family are reappearing, he has to decide who he wants to rekindle a relationship with and who he wants to suffer for his past. He has been through so much from childhood into adulthood and it has affected his relationships with everyone in his life. Both of them have to confront their past and discover the truth.
Right away we get to see how Tiernan truly feels for Bianca now that he has realized his true feelings for her. Giana Darling did what she does best in this book. She wrote an overprotective, ruthless, and cunning man that is such a softie for their girl. Tiernan is so cold, but melts for Bianca. I fell in love with how much he cared for her and her brother, as well as his friends. He would truly burn the world down for the people he lets in to his small circle.
Bianca holds her own against Tiernan, even with their age gap. She has already gone through so much in her young life and continues to go through even more in this book. She is independent, smart and willing to do whatever she needs to get the answers she wants. Bianca is still coping with so many life changes and has to decide what is truth with her family life. The people she has to get close to are just as cunning and it all leads to a breaking point.
This book has a lot of action and drama besides the romance aspect. The main characters actually spend a decent amount of time apart in the book, but everything they do individually impacts the other. There is a whole realm of stories about the Constantine and the Morelli families in the Midnight Dynasty world by several authors. This story involved both families and reveals more about their unique family dynamics.

This book was an amazing conclusion to Bianca and Tiernan’s story. Bianca Belcante is growing up from the naive girl who arrived in Bishop’s Landing and finding her feet in the world of lies and deception that she has been thrown into. While Bianca is growing stronger Tiernan is going through changes of his own, without giving you any spoilers I’ll just say that you won’t be disappointed!
Beautiful Nightmare has action, secrets, revelations, retribution, spice, enemies to lovers, and lots of character development. Giana has done it again and her contributions to the Midnight Dynasty world fit in so well. I love how she connects different aspects of her previous books into this one. This book is packed with so many powerful moments it went by so fast. I loved it!

Beautiful Nightmare picks up right where things left off at the end of Dangerous Temptations and it was full steam ahead.
I wasn’t sure where things were going to go with Bianca and Tiernan but I loved their journey. However, Tiernan had a lot to make up for. Everything between them is up and down, but the two of them are bringing the spice! Their relationship is unconventional, yet I love how well they work together and how they bring out different sides in each other.
I loved the layers that Tiernan has. I loved getting to see a different side to him and learn more about his past. Plus, his relationship with Brando!? Seriously, the best thing ever. It is so sweet and innocent. I loved that Bianca fights hard to wanting to do her own thing when it comes to her life and her brothers life, she showed some strength and her voice versus just doing whatever she is being told.
There is no shortage of Constantine and Morelli family drama and I love getting to know more about both of these families and their history with each other.
If you’re looking for a dark, age gap, enemies to lovers, anti-hero romance this is one to check out.

Picking up where Dangerous Temptation left off we see Bianca in the clutches of Caroline Constantine and Tiernan left to fight his brother and father.
Tiernan was wonderful in this book and I feel stepped up to the plate in taking care of Brando.
I do wish Bianca had stayed true to her morals and cared more about Brando while she was in the clutches of Caroline vs trying so hard to become a Constantine.

YES YES YES!! THIS IS WHAT I WANTED AND MORE! I loved how the story concluded and I adored Tiernan grovelling! Brando was obviously the MVP I don't make the rules! I'm a little sad it didn't include an epilogue but I think a bonus one is going out if you subscribe to the author's newsletter, so I'll be impatiently waiting
