I did enjoy this book - a little window into Korean life. In finding herself and her purpose, the protagonist provides a context for  divers people to come together, become a community and to find meaning.

Ich mag die Atmosphäre, aber der Roman zieht sich im Mittelteil dermaßen, dass es das Lesevergnügen mindert

Nice things happen to nice people. Sad people get happier. People take care of each other. I want to snuggle this book.

I appreciate that this genre of like "cozy" of hygge books that emphasize living well has become more well known in English over the last while (and that this particular book is translated). I also liked the characters generally but found the stories developed in this book to be boring and lacking any real plot. The stakes in this book felt relatively low as a reader, and while certainly the characters had conflicts and were going through things, a LOT of this book was very internal to the characters, but we really didn't get to know any of them that well.

I wasn't looking for anything dramatic to happen, but I felt the dialogue (and maybe this was the translation to an extent) was a little bit stilted. I did like the look into Korean culture, especially around things like work and rest.

It wasn't *bad* at all, and I think lots of people would find the slow pace of this book to build a very calm atmospheric experience. It isn't really a genre I see myself continuing into.
