Fairly predictable “fairy tale” esque novel. Enjoyed the journey, but felt a bit too cookie-cutter at times, especially with all the tropes (ie vampire, mysterious men in fog and masks, love potion) rolled into one book. Over all, super fun and fluffy if that’s what you’re going for!

This book was magical, fast-paced and filled with twists and turns. I didn’t expect to like Jack as much as I did. I so want him to be good. How long do I have to wait for the next book? Cliffhangers are good until you have to wait for the next book to come out.

Read this in one sitting. It was so good. Flying through the series because I can’t put it down. The writing is flawless. Modern fairytale.

Where to begin? This book just has such a magical feeling and it is a perfect winter read.

I loved the magic focus within this book, such as the prophecy and the mystical properties of the 'Magnificent North' that we learn about during the book.

The main characters Evangeline and Jacks have such great chemistry with each other, which is built upon over the course of the book . Also can we talk about the romance?! It was so perfectly balanced within the book that it wasn't the main focus of the story but there was also just enough to leave me satisfied and wanting more.

Upon finishing the book I wanted to start reading the sequel immediately, which in my eyes is a sign of a great book. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting a book set in a whimsical magical world with just a hint of romance.
