just fine…certainly has the patti sensibility but all things considered i didn’t love it…damn…

I love Patti Smith so very much. Her writing is so poetic, and her thoughts and musings throughout a year were so soothing. A few of her friends passed away or were dying during this year, and as she ponders her upcoming 70th birthday, she shares her thoughts. It's best to listen to the book so you can hear her. So good.
adventurous funny reflective

Patti i simply have no words… how I adore you!! a gorgeous, searching, moving travelogue of an objectively awful series of recent years and alllll the more impactful now that the worlds mistakes are being thrown back in our faces again. Patti smiths way with words is inimitable. I never finished m train, and i was hesitant ab this one at first becaude it’s the same form, patti smith ruminating over various cups of coffee, but I loved this one so much more. it felt much more connected and threaded together. and also her prose is just gorgeous no matter what. she had me truly hooked on every word coming from a hallucinated motel sign. i need to reread this  when im solo travelling again

Smith kirjoittaa kahvista, elämästä, taiteesta, maailmasta ja paikoista unenomaiseen tyyliin. Vaikea antaa tähtiä tähdelle, mutta Just Kidsin nerokkuuteen tämä ei yllä.

The last pages of this are the longest poem of the book and worth getting to. They will pierce the center of your humanity.

I love reading everything she has to say. A beautiful reflection of a year. Moments, that's all we are. We build our life upon dreams, small pieces shared with those who we borrow to walk with.

Had trouble getting traction with this. Was it truth? Rumination? It was both. Some sentences were gorgeous. Other thought trains took me nowhere.

For a moment, while reading this book, I was Patti Smith.
emotional reflective relaxing medium-paced

Very short, and I listened straight after just kids and m train which is perhaps a disservice.
But I enjoyed
