Very readable, and it’s a fascinating perspective, yet it’s also frustrating and irritating. Part of me is curious how much of that is just the character, and how much of it is Salinger himself. In reality, it’s likely both. Holden is not a character/personality I’d want to spend another book with, that’s for sure.

for as many things as have “killed” Holden, he’s still yapping an awful lot. it’s kind of endearing though.

I really loved this book - I read it in junior year and didn’t rlly like it but decided to give it another try on my own outside of class and it was beautiful and I fell in love with Holden’s brain and stream of consciousness- and it is fun reading this while having adhd haha!! His brain works like mine :p
