I knew I would enjoy Brady and Riley's story because I have loved Brady from the beginning, but I had some issues with the storyline. The whole Uncle Boone thing seemed to come out of nowhere for me. He seemed like such a stand-up and loyal man in the first book and his indiscretion kind of blindsided me. Maybe that's what Abbi was going for? I guess it can happen that way in real life. Either way, it broke my heart. I also had issues with Rhett. Why does he make an appearance at the end? Again, it seemed to come out of nowhere and didn't really add anything to the story for me. I wanted some justice... A heartfelt apology.. A swift kick to his balls... Something. I don't know. I also hated the ending. It seemed like the distance thing didn't get resolved. I would have loved an epilogue into the future so we could see where everyone was. I want to see where the whole gang ends up. Overall, I really liked the story, but some areas just fell flat for me. Maybe it's because I loved West and Maggie's story so much? I'm not sure. I have loved all of Abbi Glines' books, so I am hoping the next one ties everything in a pretty bow for me. I would love to see where everyone ended up.

Honestly felt too descriptive and wattpaddy. I don’t want a dry description of everything I want meaningful interactions between the characters
I usually read a vast collection of books, including a lot of YA, but for some reason I just didn't connect with this book and felt too old for it.
It's a really emotional book that deals with difficult issues. What happens in the aftermath of a sexual assault? What happens with the victim and the outsiders? How do they view it?
It's heart breaking, tear-wrenching but it's still missing something. It lacks an element that makes the story become more profound and satisfying. Maybe it's because the characters are young adults, hence they don't have an understanding of life and experience. Yet, I still really like the story.
It's the first story that doesn't go into detail about how attractive the characters are. Brady and Riley didn't come together because of their physical appearance but rather because of guilt and hope. They saw something in each other. They are what the other needs to overcome their own problem. They showed each other faith to move on with their life and let go of the past. They healed, helped and saved one another.
The trope has so much potential but is so under-developed. It's so close to becoming an unforgettable read. The author approaches the storyline in a more hopeful, optimistic way, which is a very wonderful thing. However, it bugs me so much that it's really superficial and shallow. Despite going on a right path, the book has only scratched the surface of the problem. It gave me expectations but failed to live up to them.

It was good. Nothing ground breaking. I’m not sure I’ll continue on with the series as I feel it’s getting pretty repetitive at this point.
