1000/5, so incredibly amazing. One of the best conclusions to a series I have ever read thus far.
And utterly heartbreaking too.

With every book i read in this series my rating dropped a star. I enjoyed Ninth rain for its original and mysterious world building, but also had a few things I personally didn’t like. To me the farther we go into the story the more forced the events became. Things seem to happen just for plots sake. Side quest that I feel don’t improve the story but convolute it.
Maybe my expectations were to high because of the hype some reviewers I respect gave this series.
But seeing after I finished this two weeks ago, I hardly think about this story anymore and nothing felt really memorable to me i can say this story was not for me.

This book was beautiful and so creative. I’ve never read anything like this series and I have the biggest book hangover I have had for a while.

I wasn't particularly disappointed in the series, but I do think it could have been great and instead was merely very good. The characters are interesting and engaging. The world building is interesting. And it avoids feeling like a rote fantasy novel. Hest's storyline continues to be the weakest. There is so much about it that doesn't fully make sense (both her behavior and that of the Kerrigen-esque leader of the Jurre'lia. It is a sign of how good the rest of the books are that the series survives this wound.
Spoiler Noon's sacrifice at the end was reminiscent of the ending of the Poppy War trilogy, though more optimistic than that.
