I was so excited to be selected for an ARC of Anastaija's newest release, Barn Burner! I re-read Sin-Bin right before this so I could be reacquainted with this world that the author created. So good!
This story revolved around Drake, who is a pretty popular side character in Sin-Bin. I was excited to see the storyline of Ava and Colt continue to play out as well! This book is also set about 5 years in the future from Sin-Bin.
Drake moves to Santa Clara after he gets traded and is excited to play on the same team as Colt. He meets his new neighbor, Angie, in a funny meet-cute involving Angie's dog. When Angie needs a fake boyfriend to help her fend off her needy ex-boyfriend, she thinks of asking Drake to help her out and he agrees. Fake dating is such a great trope especially since you gradually get to see the characters fall for each other. I loved all of the little moments that Drake and Angie had. I really liked how much she grew over the course of the story and accepted herself with the support of Drake. Definitely make sure to check this one out and add to your TBR! I'm so excited to keep reading more books by Anastaija as she releases them!
