I really appreciated the reference formatting of this since I can't make use of certain parts. With each section being heavily indexed I could simply pick out the parts I wanted to read and flip right to it. I would say it's worth reading, but I doubt it's the holy grail of success that some people might expect it to be because of the author's achievements. It can get repetitive though if read straight through so plan to read it in small chunks.

Great read for newer leaders. I ended up skipping the beginning and would recommend for most. I did get something out the principles and I also thought the summary pages were excellent. It is longer than it has to be for sure. Recommend skimming and then reading the applicable sections. There is good content there.

As far as life advice/self help books go, I found it to be surprisingly substantive and thought-provoking. Coming into the book, I was skeptical that a hedge fund manager could have much to teach about living a fulfilling, successful, (and maybe even ethical?) life.

However, Dalio unique perspective on life clearly has brought him wisdom on humility, relationships, work, and the way the world works that I think would be helpful for almost anyone. I recommend this book highly.

Read the PDF. For a book about self-awareness Ray seems to have missed the modern discourse on privilege.
