Enjoyable read, but ends abruptly, missing the character development that clearly occurred after Avery completely changed her life and career direction. A few more chapter could have filled this book and developed both characters and their relationship further.

Second chances were the most important part of learning if you could really trust someone. Everyone made mistakes, but you had to mean it when you apologized and asked for that trust back. Keeping the promise of not doing it again was the true test.

No matter how hard you tried to force the pieces together, someone was always going to get hurt.

“They’re just our past, leaving marks on us to remind us of the good, the bad, and the ugly.”

Iforgot the lyrics to my own fucking song. As soon as I spotted that blue-haired—and completely off-limits—goddess in my crowd, my damn mouth dried up, and my head went blank.

If I went to hell for this, so be it. At least I could say I’d been to heaven after lying with her.

Something changed the moment the song ended. I wasn’t staring into the eyes of my best friend’s sister. I was staring at a girl I’d never known I wanted. I’d definitely never expected to need her either, but there I was, needing her like I needed air to breathe.

“You see, there’s this girl …” I stopped breathing when I saw him staring directly at me. “I think I might be falling in love with her, but I have a really hard time finding the words to tell her that. So, I did the next best thing and put some of my thoughts into lyrics.”

He hadn’t written this song to tell me he loved me. He wrote it because he loved me.

“Really?” “I’ve never wanted to be someone’s someone more than I do yours.”

Life tended to chip little pieces of you away, the longer you were here. Shaping you. Molding you into who you were today. No one ever prepared you for when you lost too much of yourself. You stumbled. You fell. Lost, without a clear path to follow, hoping to find that one person, place, or passion that made you feel whole again. The piece that fit.

I really enjoyed this book. The MCs are so cute and the book had a really good pace to it, especially for being so short. It’s a heck of a good time!

It felt like they were in high school, kept forgetting they were both in there 20’s. Skimmed a lot.
