So beautiful and heartbreaking. The art was simple but never lacked passion or meaning. I loved this book so much.
Side note: I have NOT read Moby Dick, and I still followed the story perfectly fine. I think as long as you know about the book Moby Dick existing and what it's vaguely about, you should be sweet

Whilst the illustrations and the unusual perspective were engaging, I didn't get the same punch in the heart I usually do from Ness's writing.

A clever twist on Moby Dick.

I think the main reason I liked this was because of how short this book was. It was really creative and I loved seeing a retelling of Moby dick and the whale. This is told from the view of the whale, which was very unexpected.

"There are devils in the deep but worst are the ones we make."

Beautiful short tale about the dangers of greed, violence and certainty.

Hmm. I don’t know. I chose not to rate this book because I love Patrick Ness but didn’t particularly love this book…but to be fair, I listened to the audiobook without knowing it was a graphic novel. I wasn’t really interested in this but maybe I’ll revisit it when I find the graphic novel version because I don’t like the idea of being bored by a Patrick Ness book!!!

This is a fine idea that falls apart about halfway through. I can’t get past how the whales did all that without thumbs. I know it’s lampshaded but I still don’t know how.

Beautiful illustrations. Ness has a way of being slightly dark and poetic. This was a very short and symbolic homage to Moby Dick.
