Really enjoy the series. Oddly I read these murder mysteries for the characters, the relationships, the historical settling, but I usually find the mysteries themselves overly complicated. Love Wrexham and Sloane getting closer, and at a reasonable pace, and the found family they are building.

A shipping clerk is killed who works for the East India Company. Wrexford and Sloane with their assistants investigate the possibility of financial fraud within the company and try to trace the murderer.
Not as entertaining as previous mysteries.

Let me first say that the thing that keeps me reading this series is the scientific/mathematics element that is super unique and creative to a cozy British mystery. But please can someone tell me how “sardonic” and “quick silver” and “dark as a crypt” can be used this many times in one book? Ahhhhh
