Okay I noted down some notes on the index to see all my reaction to all the short stories lets see how far I got with this

my fav was Nona or Survivor Type

The Mist 8/10
the movies image was stuck in my head so the cosmic horror part of the novella did not work for me,
if I didnt watch the movie i would have liked it more. really good tho.

The monkey 9/10
This had me till the end, all that build up for some boring ahh fishes? but happy ending and I like that

Cain Rose Up 5/10
The shock value was good but I wanted to spend more time in his head, the way he imagined was unique.

Mrs Todd's Shortcut 10/10
It starts slow and you think this is not going anywhere but once the weird stuff hit it never stops supriising me.

The Jaunt 10/10
That ending was worth everything and i want scifi horror from King now lol.

The Wedding Gig 7/10
The only thing ive noted is the narrator is way too angry at the girl.

The Raft 9/10
Highly predictable but damn was it a good read

Word Processor of the gods 9/10
Had a happy ending and that was good enuf

The Man Who Would not Shake Hands 9/10
I wish he did more with the creep factor. Also Indian do black magic was kinda corny ngl. still got that creepy feeling

BeachWorld 7/10
Dune but scary

Nona 10/10
IT FELT LIKE I WATCHED A MOVIE. I remember every scene the cinematography the writing I remember every detail like a movie it flowed so well too. If I was a film student I would make this my movie cause it felt so good.

Survivor Type 10/10
Again it read so fluently and i really liked the details. Vomit inducing

Uncle Autos Truck 10/10
Again the last 10 pages just picks the pace up and i dont even know how i can stop myself.

milkman #1 6/10
Might be dumb i just didnt get that he was the killer

Milkman #2 5/10
Again just thought the milkman was only cucking the guy and he killed himself did not think he was the killer

Gramma 9/10
if it went with dead grandma and no witch craft still would work.

The Ballad of the Flexible Bullet 10/10
Even tho IK how thorpe's story would go i didnt expect to keep reading. Shit had me hooked.

The Mist: This is the longest story, and one of the best. Creepy, with just enough gaps to fill that you terrify yourself.

Here There be Tygers: Short, fun, easy, light.

The Monkey: The best one in this collection, absolutely stunning.

Cain Rose Up: School shooting story, forgettable

Mrs. Todd's Shortcut: Fun, clever, interesting, easy to read. A story about a lady who's obsessed with finding the fastest way, and in doing so goes into other dimensions.

The Jaunt: A sci-fi horror about time travel. Cleverm with just enough horror to make it Stephen King.

The Wedding Gig: Eh.

Paranoid: A Chant: Bit rubbish.

The Raft: Suspenseful, tense, clever monster.

Word Processor of the Gods: Fantastic concept. Stunning execution.

The Man Who Would Not Shake Hands: Very Dahl-esque. Fun.

Beachworld: Another horror sci-fi. VERY cool monster.

The Reaper's Image: The most forgettable story in this collection.

Nona: Creepy in a very realistic way. About a serial killer going mad.

For Owen: Also a bit rubbish.

Survivor Type: Horrifying. So gruesome.

Uncle Otto's Truck: A fun killer car story.

Morning Deliveries (Milkman #1): About a killer milkman. REALLY fun story.

Big Wheels: A Tale of the Laundry Game (Milkman # 2): Not as good as the first one, but still okay.

Gramma: About a grandma who's also a witch. Really clever execution, and really unsettling.

The Ballad of the Flexible Bullet: Good, just too long.

The Reach: So boring. About a lady who's ready to die going on a last excursion with her dead friends. You can see it as sweet, but I thought it was very dry.

3.5 rounding down. Every story in this collection is forgettable but The Mist. without The Mist this would be a 2 star but it's so good that it really carries it up to a 3. it's a shame that these other books are dragging this down.
