This book should come with a warning: Caution do not start unless you have a lot of free time. You won't want to put it down. Please excuse any typos. I made the mistake of starting last night and didn't stop until the end. I am a exhausted. I can't say enough good things about Kristen Ashley. Her books are always filled with excitement, romance, challenges, real life situations without too much fluff. I never had a desire to go to the East Coast before beginning this series. Reading Kristen's words filled my mind with glorious pictures of the lands and coastline. The name, Mickey, invokes all kinds of Irish tough guy. Mickey was all that and so much more-devoted father, hard worker, protective, and fantastic lover. Amy came to the coast to re-invent herself and to be near her children after a horrible divorce and poor decisions on her part. She may have lots of money, but it didn't buy happiness. Good friends, being charitable, and a wonderful neighbor (Mickey) will help her find it. Soaring had enough going on that I didn't get bored. Soaring and a good balance of good and bad people. Soaring gave me things I didn't expect. Soaring gave me resolution, and thankfully no cliffhanger. The epilogue was the icing on the cake. Instead of being left wondering what was happening, readers are left with a bunch of little tidbits of what the future holds.

I liked Mickey and Amelia's story a lot. This series is one that I am really enjoying and is very much typical KA. Amy and Mickey were good for one another and I am really looking forward to reading Coert's story next!

I really wanted to like this one more. Honestly what kept me reading was Amelia's relationship with her kids and how that was developing. The romance seemed just... kind of boring to me. I don't know. And, guilty, I skimmed a lot of the sex scenes towards the end. There were just a LOT and I didn't really need to read the same thing over and over.

Mickey was just okay for me. He got upset or said dumb shit for, yes, reasons, but not very GOOD reasons, y'know? It just annoyed me eventually. It wasn't fighting the way Ally and Ren fought, or Laurie and Tate. So it didn't quite live up to my KA expectations in that way.

Also, presumably, the whole arson thing will be resolved in Coert's book The Time in Between, but I wish we had seen more. Not a lot of outside plot happened in this book.

And honestly the fact that this series has yet to have an obligatory kidnapping is making me upset.

I thought before I started writing this review that I would do a little experiment and count how many KA books I have read in the last few years and the number is…..33. Thirty-three books by KA have swooped in and stole my heart. Every one of them I have loved. Every one of them has been a ball of fantastic rolled up in absolute wonderfulness.

Let’s just say that Soaring fell into the category of the last thirty-three books of KA’s that I have read. It was amazing. It was actually beyond amazing because Amelia and Mickey were the best of everything together. When Amelia’s ex-husband comes and stirs up trouble within the first few days of her moving into the new house, Mickey is there and steps in…making him the best neighbor (and super sexy!) The moment they got together, they were the best lovers and this doesn’t even begin to describe them accurately. They topped every emotion and level together and went beyond.

What I loved the most about these two characters was that the relationship was a slow build. It wasn’t like those books where the instant they saw each other it become love. Amelia and Mickey’s paths crossed multiple times, and in many different emotions, before they realized what these feelings were. It was a beautiful build of a relationship and it burn of it was spellbinding.

So as my thirty-fourth KA book, I can gladly say that it was brilliant. It had all the things that I craved and didn’t know that I needed in a book. Like I always say, KA can do no wrong and this book just proves it.
