one of the best memoirs ive ever read, right there michelle obama’s and maya angelou’s!
this memoir? it was glorious. absolutely visceral, heartbreaking. yet, it gave me life and hope. viola is a storyteller through and through. i had no idea of her upbringing and she does not sugarcoat for the readers all the abuse and violence poverty brings.
i want to read it again on my physical copy and annotate the hell out of this book, i just know i will.
