The sacred tome of preppies everywhere, this book is a requirement is you love pastel or sailing. The modern version is just as great, [b:True Prep|7838103|True Prep It's a Whole New Old World|Lisa Birnbach|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1320499100s/7838103.jpg|10920998].

You should read this book if you like: Exclusivity, private clubs, racquet sports, collecting sweaters, being rich, wishing you were rich, drinking, old leather furniture, pearls, trust funds

This was laugh-out-loud funny. Despite having been originally published FORTY-ONE years ago, The Official Preppy Handbook is as relevant as ever. It's timeless--as Prep was meant to be, apparently. Funny how things never change.
If you have any interest in, experience with, and/or judgment of "prep culture," check this out (if you can find it!)

Basically, my life's handbook.
Love that it's so tongue in cheek. I can dress like the Smith Point crowd while relentlessly mocking them.

This is probably the funniest book I've ever read. Coming from a preppy family, this really hits home for me.

An odd satirical "handbook". Mildly entertaining.

It’s a classic for a reason. It’s so witty and reminds me of my youth. I can’t help but pick it up and read a couple of pages every time I stumble across it in my library.

I think the author said she didn't like that her book was looked at as funny or as satire but I mean
