I struggled reading this one. Even though there was constant action, the writing didn't lock me in as much as the first or even the second book did. I got a little lost in the character names, especially the court and periphery characters. The story was winding and often seemed lost. I love the ideas, but this was definitely a dip in the series.

I had trouble really getting into this book after the first two. This one seemed to have a lot more build up and politics than the previous stories which I enjoyed a little less. It kind of felt like the second book in a trilogy that's there to set up the grand finale.

However, the reveals that I've come to expect from Sabaa Tahir did NOT disappoint and I'm very, very excited to see how this series ends!
