This book left me wanting for a lot of different reasons.

based on Turpin case of extreme child abuse. confusing format, flashbacks, alternating timelines, point of view of different characters. Characters not developed

I really appreciated that the horror was muted, as if still seen from a child's perspective, with wishful thinking and hope. I also enjoyed the deep character dive and all the different perspectives. If you are looking for a gripping psychological read that allows the horror to gently sweep in, you're in for ta treat.

Second attempt to read this one. First time I DNF with 80 pages to go. I left it for about 10 months and started again. I was able to complete it, but just about.
