Lyrics of a Small Town was a beautiful story about falling in love after you thought you never would again, discovering who you are and also who your family is. Henley found herself in The Shores and she never expected to have the summer of her life in the town where her mother grew up. I loved the mention of one of my other absolute fave authors. I was able to connect with Henley due to her being gluten and dairy free, as I have the same allergies. I love to bake as well, so it was cool to have that connection. I enjoyed it so much more because of that. This is one of my absolute faves by Abbi, she never ceases to amaze me with her beautiful writing.

This small town, beach romance follows Henley as she returns to her Grandmother's hometown after she dies.  Honey, her Grandmother, has left her a list of things to do after she passes away from Covid.  Along the journey of delivering these boxes and letters, Henley finds out about her past and secrets that were hidden for her whole life.  She finds so much more in this little town than she ever thought possible.  Fans of Abbi's Rosemary Beach series will love this one.  I am looking forward to reading the next one.

This book had all the makings of an easy summer read. Small town - tick! Sweet girl meets tortured boy -tick! Family secrets - tick!

I liked the setting and I appreciated the cosy baking vibes but sadly that might be where my enjoyment for this book ends.

I finished it, so it gets three stars. Unfortunately I didn’t love (or even like) most of the characters, I didn’t feel any real chemistry between the love interests and their intimate scenes mostly just made me uncomfortable. Oof.
I’m also generally just not a fan of controlling, jealous main male characters (take a hike!)

A quick, easy read, but I’m left feeling underwhelmed.
