I have so much praise for this book but I just finished it and cannot get my thoughts in order yet.

Absolutely phenomenal read. Don’t think I’ve ever read a book that was just so difficult to get through, the brutality is next level.

For later:
- historical context
- bodily autonomy 
- substance abuse 
- reality of war 

I will come back once I’ve finished reeling.

This book held me in a chokehold the whole whole time. The action never let up. My only gripe is that I feel like we lost quite a bit of the character-driven plot that the first book had. A lot of this book felt like it was happening to Rin instead of Rin making choices that impacted the plot.
