. Suicidal thoughts, gun violence & blood:

FMC shot MMC and experienced shock after witnessing his bloody wound as he bled out. Secondary character forces another to slice his throat (minimal description of blood and applying pressure); Both MMC and FMC experience suicidal thoughts (mentioned but not detailed with plans), and gun violence.

Fire & sexual content:

FMC experiences trying to escape a house fire and secondary character is injuried in fire but not by fire itself; sexual content, while frequent, was descriptive but could have been much more so (features rope play but not shibari, kinks are present but briefly mentioned instead of detailed), despite some vulgarities, loss of virginity, and brief mentions of kinks, etc., it's mostly him commanding FMC and her being bratty and getting spanked.

Kidnapping, drug use, & torture:

MMC puts her on a plane and takes her to meet his parents; MMC drugs FMC via drink and takes her to an isolated island; Secondary characters are beat up repeatedly out of rage, a secondary character is beat up and then kidnapped and drugged to keep him from escaping.

Medical content: a main character is described in hospital being unconscious and their status is discussed several times between other characters. Mental illness: secondary character's history mentioned and an incident witnessed by FMC

I liked this book way more than the first. It was more intense and the characters were much less irritating. I have a soft spot for Creighton…. It’s always the quiet ones that surprise you. This spice in this book is pretty hardcore but in a good way. Rina Kent does an amazing job of giving you a taste of the surrounding characters and parts of their stories throughout the main one.  If the rest of the series is anything like this one…then damn I’m in trouble 😝☠️🔥
