Really great read! Can't wait to read more from the author

I was so close to being able to give this a higher rating. I thought it was going to be a certainty... until I got to the end of the book. It was immensely frustrating to enjoy something so much, only to be disappointed by a quick, easy conclusion of a dangerous situation. It killed the enjoyment of the story altogether for me, and if I'd been reading a paperback version, I'd have thrown it across the room in aggravation!

I'm willing to allow that, perhaps, all is not what it seems. Perhaps it's explored further in book two? I have it, so I'm going to read that one next...and hope for the best.

This book was a fun read! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great character development! It starts off in the modern-day setting as Sophie is introduced to us as a weak, helpless, bedridden woman due to her medical condition. Her husband is very devoted to her and loves her so much. You can't help but admire him. I don't want to reveal anything, so I'll just say this: As I continue on in the book, I admire her determination. She's stronger than she looks. The girl has spunk! Definitely worth reading!

Loved this read! I will be honest I am not normally a time travel person but I love this author so decided to give this book a read. I am so glad that I did! This book has romance, history and mystery. I read it almost in one sitting and could not put it down. Sophie and Jamie have an amazing love story that will have you rooting for them through out the book. Plus there are amazing host of characters in this book that make it a fun read. So if you like to read romance or time travel or historical books or just a really great book then this should be your next read!

I am glad this was a free kindle book because it may actually be the dumbest book I have ever read. I don't know why I keep reading time travel books because they always end up frustrating me. And, the main character in this book is unbelievably annoying!

Great story line and very well written. Enough action to keep the plot going. All the characters are very well written and can easily connect with them. However the end was very anti-climatic and could have been a little more exciting. Overall I would recommend this book.

Sophie and Jamie, a young married couple in 2007, have a problem. Sophie is dying, because her heart is failing. While hooked up to machines in their home, she is suddenly transported back into her favorite time in history: the Civil War era. Now, she is healed, healthy, but confused as to how she got there and where Jamie is. Back home in the present, her body is gone and Jamie is frantic.
This historical romance was a pleasure to read. The writing is smooth and the characters very relatable. While there was a solid balance of history and mystery in the plot, the romance stayed consistent and sweet, without being over the top, throughout the story. Sophie and Jamie have a great relationship, and it really shows throughout the story. This is the first in a series, and after reading the first, I'm definitely eager to see what happens in book 2.

I would love to have given this book a 5 stars rating I just couldn't. The reading was enjoyably easy but matters were resolved too easily & too conveniently. I think there is a lot more that can be done to make the story that extra "oomph". There was only a hint of the intrigue so I wish there was a lot more goings on for the suspense in the story. Also, for a romance book this book is quite clean (ie. lots of kissing but sex is behind closed doors ;) )
