I am shook! The plot twist was insane! I never saw it coming and I'm usually good at guessing twists.
The story. The characters. The worldbuilding. It's all so perfect! I loved every second of this story and have basically been glued to these pages.
I knew I would love this book since the moment I heard of it and I even bought the special edition on a whim. It did not disappoint!
Content Warning: people eat hearts (I know it sounds weird which is why I started the first chapter a while back and set it aside.) very brief mentions of/and slight smut but not much, brief mentions of one man wanting to be married to another man and a woman having relations with both sexes, and I only remember 1 cuss word.

I absolutely could not put this book down. It’s been so long since I’ve read a story that kept me up at night, wanting to continue to read and turn pages. I was not expecting the ending, and I am someone who prides myself on putting together the puzzle before the end of the book. I also look for plot holes and thought I had caught a couple of them, but at the end of the book I felt like it wrapped up the way it needed to make sense.
This book isn’t perfect, I wish that there was more detail in the events and the dialogue to help build the world and the relationships more. Sometimes it would seem that big events would happen in a paragraph, but I really wanted more. There are also times where small events happened that really turned out to be a big plot that could’ve been highlighted more.
Loved the world, the plot, the mystery, the love story and the twist.
Realistically, this is 4 1/2 stars for me. If you’re not a pretentious reader, it’s a good story and not too complicated.
Also I’m 100% #TeamGrim. (Can we bring back the twilight era hashtags?)
*edit. I know nothing about Acotar. This book is way less hunger games but with vibes faintly of twilight for sure.
