The premise and setting of the story was different to others of the genre which was cool to see but the FMC was quite cringe, she started out good and just got a bit annoying towards the end.

Quite dark themes.

All in all I liked the book but I have to say it didn’t really touch me? Maybe I just wasn’t in the right headspace because as I said I loved this story and it’s potential. It was just the emotional impact I missed, even though the book featured pretty dark scenes which weren’t easy to stomach at times.

The story tempted me to read the book quickly because from beginning to end the plot was very interesting but I still didn't feel very captivated. Both Seneca's dark past at the beginning of the book and her (involuntary) liberation to relearning herself and her ways were beautifully written.

After conquering the first hurdles Tyran always knows how to handle Seneca’s rabid side. He supports her through whatever challenges she faces at that moment, which I adore.

In the darkest time of her life Seneca is introduced to what’s going to pave her way into happiness, trust and finally love.
