this is a really nice book. a bit of fun too, with the math - i enjoyed that part of the story a lot.

There is a lot of passages explaining mathematical theroms and baseball moves which aren't my cup of tea.
I liked the story, especially the interactions between the professor and the boy but I don't enjoy math. I basically went glassy-eyed and unfocused whenever the numbers discussions lasted more than a paragraph - just not my thing.
Like, the plot is kind of mawkish? The titular professor has the anteretrograde amnesia, which works much like it does in the movies 50 First Dates (aka according to the plot's demands)
I thought the most fun and interesting part of this was the Little Prince-esque cutesy description of mathematical concepts
Do I remember any of it? Absolutely not!
Did I learn anything about math? Not really!
But I did come away with a sense of "wow, numbers can be cute and are friends"
Also an exasperation towards math intuition, which I have none of but seems like a fun skill
I think my mom would like this book LOL

Math and baseball are not topics I would ever gravitate towards but, The Housekeeper and The Professor is such a lovely story about found family that one can get swept away amongst the prime numbers and batting averages.

Like a lovely soup of minced Maths and diced feels, where the numbers bounced off my thick head but the feels warmed my heart.
