This is about maths and love. The beginning, the first 100 or so pages, had me hooked but then it slowed down towards the end like it had nowhere to go, there was also far too much baseball which went straight over my head.
Some of the mysteries aren't resolved like why the sister in law is a sister in law or what happened to the children.

Recommendation sent to my math teacher sister:
I have a cutie little book recommendation for you!!! It’s about math! It’s called the Housekeeper and the Professor by Yōko Ogawo and it is so beautiful and captivating. It’s a slice of life novella narrated by a kind and compassionate Housekeeper who goes to help an older man who was a very gifted mathematician. The Professor suffered a traumatic brain injury in an accident and as a result his memory resets every 80 minutes. Each day they meet for seemingly the first time and they both find comfort and understanding in teaching and learning and questioning mathematics. It’s soooo very sweet and I think you will like it even more because you already have an appreciation for math. It’s a classic in Japanese literature. 4.25 / 5
