this was a great contemporary omegaverse, but then I wasn't expecting it not to be since it was by this author, but then I wasn't expecting it not to be since it was by this author. It was classic in all the ways that matter - alpha's rule mentality from the world, snuggling alpha, nesting omega, sweetness together - and for that it made it everything and more. It was exactly what i was expecting when I picked up the book and I wasn't disappointed at any point

I fell in love with Marina’s writing which led me to reading my second omegaverse novel. This was okay. Mostly I just didn’t see the romance? Imo they were just platonic besties. Also 3 stars for Levy because he’s a king.

My love affair with hockey romance continues. This one with an Omegaverse twist. Oh, how my heart ached for Alonso and the way his father treated him. The abuse he suffered simply for being born an Omega were horrible. Nothing he did was ever good enough. The Alpha/Omega dynamic was treated as a substitute for gay and straight, up to the point of an Alpha being attracted to another Alpha being referred to as homosexual. It's an interesting take. Overall I loved the sweetness between Alonso and Levy, especially during his heat. It was heartwarming. I am looking forward to continuing this series.

I liked Alonso and Levy’s story but it definitely felt unfinished to me. The epilogue was a chapter of just trying to tie up loose ends and set up for the next books (looking like Orion and the Captain).
I can’t say I loved it but I would maybe read the second book.
