So we now see how Liam, Sal & Maddy cope without Foster and this time when Liam and Becks (The new replacement for Bob) Maddy makes a mistake and throws Liam, Becks and a group of students into the BC era to make things worse they're stuck there until they can figure out a way to fix things and avoid another time rift.

The body count in this book is significantly higher in this book and we see Liam learn to deal with Becks the results are quite amusing but this time the shit well and truly hits the fan as Sal & Maddy find themselves in a little sticky situation.

I flew through this book with the constant wondering of what could possibly go wrong? But hey when you mess with time travel everything can go wrong.

No páni!

I think I preferred this book to the first one in the series. I mean, time travelling to the Cretaceous? Uh, YES. The characters are fun - although reading things from a sort-of-dinosaur's point of view was a LITTLE weird - and the way they solve the "Oh crap, we're lost in history and no one knows where" thing was pretty nifty. Making the support unit a teenager like the main characters rather than an Arnold Schwarzenegger type was great too as it was less of a deus ex machina than the first time around. Like the first book, everything is wrapped up neatly at the end, but with a slight unexpected twist. I hope like hell none of the kids at school borrow the third one between now and when I'm next at work because I'm loving this series so far.

A great sequel to the first TimeRiders book.

The characters are still fantastic. Liam and Maddy developed really well, with Liam stuck in dinosaur times and Maddy having to keep so many secrets. Sal also had moments of brilliance. Becks was a wonderful new character.

Plot: A message from the future tells the team of a contamination event due to Edward Chan, the grandfather of time travel, was killed before he could write a paper on time travel in 2029. Liam and Becks are sent to investigate, but Maddy accidently maroons them and sixteen other kids in the Cretaceous era. They send a message to the field office, but are being hunted down by an unknown species of dinosaur.

I thought this book was fantastic. I am confused at how time travel works in the books, but it doesn't bother me a lot.
