As a Pacific Northwest transplant who spends significant time deep in the woods, I knew I had to add this to my reading list. I did sneak peeks at a few reviews beforehand, so I was aware of some criticisms around the jumpy storylines and the questionable hypothesis. Once I figured out it that Fraser was telling stories in chronological order, I found it easier to keep track of the interweaving threads. Whether or not you agree with her premise, you have to give her immense credit for the sheer volume of research and scholarship that went into this book.

I want more of my friends to read this one so we can discuss it in person. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in environmental impacts on nurture and behavior, and folks with passing interest in serial killers.
