I hate to say this, but I just really did not enjoy this one.
I came across it on Libby while looking for an audiobook to listen to at work, and the synopsis sounded so fun! It described a "social season" for rich vampires with a fake dating trope which made me think we were getting a historical, paranormal, Bridgerton-like, but that was just not the case unfortunately.
It took place in modern day and was so insta-love and had what I felt like were so many plot holes, I just couldn't get into it - I probably should have DNF'd it after the first 25%, but I kept hoping it would get better lol.

“You are everything you need to be, and you will only continue to find yourself.”
Was not expecting such a banger of a line from a book with this title. The writing was woefully inconsistent (the beginning was the worst part imo), but when it was good, it hit, especially the descriptive imagery. The inclusion of magic by way of the familiars, descendants of witches, made the world a bit more interesting. Some of the plot points were taken straight out of the Twilight Playbook and the whole fake dating in front of vampire society thing barely came into play. I think she only went to like two events, and at no point did they even have to pretend.
Julian, the filthy rich vampire in question, was lowkey doing it for me, and isn't that why we read books like this? I'm even considering continuing the series...
